Creator and Leader ArteLing
Anne Willieme, Creator and leader of ArteLing, combines artistic insight and structured practice to help people connect and communicate. Willieme brings to ArteLing over 25 years of experience as an artist, art lecturer, collaborator with leading American museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, designer of innovative educational programs, and passionate creator of art, perception, and learning synergies.
Having grown up in Europe, Willieme, a native English-French bilingual, fluent in Italian, developed an early passion for language learning and cross-cultural understanding. Her ArteLing programs, which combine art, perception, language, and communication use her proprietary perceptual-art The Art of Seeing Method to help individuals acquire a foreign language as well as leaders and teams enhance perception to communicate more effectively.
For over a decade, Willieme led ArtMed inSight, an organization, which she founded, and which was dedicated to providing medical students, physicians, and healthcare practitioners with pioneering perceptual-art training programs to help them strengthen their perceptual intelligence to enhance their visual diagnostic and communications skills. In this context, her seminars, based on her perceptual-art methods were the subject of research studies, which showed marked benefits for the participants who took her courses. Her programs were offered at leading academic and medical institutions such as Columbia University Medical Center, NYU Grossman School of Medicine, and Massachusetts General Hospital, among many others.
A visual artist too, her independent art practice explores perception through immersive, interactive experiences—informing her education design work while remaining a distinct, experiential space for exploration. Willieme works with diverse art forms including choreography, photography, printing, painting, and installation. Her exhibition and art installations have been shown in galleries and public spaces in major cities in both the U.S. and Europe. She is currently based in Washington DC and New York City.
